Blessing Of The Child In The Womb at St Joseph Church & Shrine 610 6th St Gretna LA. St Gerard Majella is the patron saints of expectant mothers, unborn babies, women in labor and mothers. His Feast Day is October 16. He prayed for expectant mothers that they carry their children to full term and that they be born healthy and the mothers remain healthy also. After his death, a woman was on the verge of losing her baby in childbirth. A hankerchief that belong to Gerard was applied to the area of her womb and she was able to give birth with no futher complications. In honor of St Gerard Majella, we will celebrate the Blessing Of The Child In The Womb on Sunday October 13, 2024 at the 9:30am Mass at St Joseph. All expectant families are invited to this Mass for the Blessing. Please invite others to come to this event.
