It’s the festive season that acclaims“Laissez les bon temps rouler,”and no one in South Louisiana does that better than the Krewe of St. Joe’s at St. Joseph Cathedral, 401 Main Street. downtown Baton Rouge, which invites everyone to join parishioners and friends for a gumbo potluck lunch.
The event begins at11:30 am in the Parish Hall Sunday, February 23, immediately following the 10:30 am Principal Liturgy in the Cathedral Church. The main course will be a chicken-and-sausage gumbo prepared by retired Juban’s Executive Chef Terry McDonner, the nephew of the late Rev. Gerard F. Young, who served as rector in 1996-2009.
For the potluck, all are invited to bring their favorite salad, appetizer, vegetable side, or dessert. Food items may be brought before Mass to the Parish Hall before Mass, where volunteers will keep all food warm or cold as needed. Wine and beverages will also be served.
Everyone is encouraged to wear their choice Mardi Gras attire and enjoy an afternoon of family fun, fellowship, and good food!
