As the 248th annual celebration of the Nation’s Independence draws near, St. Joseph Cathedral, at 401 Main Street in downtown Baton Rouge, has set a patriotic-themed Parish Potluck Luncheon at 11:30 am this Sunday, June 30, in the Parish Hall. All are welcome.
The event occurs immediately after the 10:30 am Principal Mass in the cathedral church.
The Rev. J. Cary Bani, cathedral rector, and the oce sta are providing the main entree, barbecue brisket. Parishioners and friends are invited to share their favorite summertime side dishes -- appetizers, salads, meats, vegetables, breads, and desserts. Cold beverages will be provided.
Participants arriving for Mass with dishes may hand them to Parish Development Group volunteers who will keep them cool or warm as needed. Monetary donations will be accepted also.
